I helped my neighbor, John, put up plywood to cover his front french doors. I went and purchased a 8,000 watt electical generator and 15 more gallons of gas. I already have a 2,000 watt generator, but when it comes to huricanes, more is better. She's not happy, as we went through Hurricane Katrina exactly 3 years ago in 2005. Aug 27, 2008 - Hurricane Gustav is threatening to come to New Orleans from down south in the Caribbean Sea. This evening, I went out and purchased 5 gallons of gas and filled up my truck and the SUV. I saw my neighbor Larry at the gas pump, we laughed about driving to Baton Rouge to pick-up gas after Hurricane Katrina. Post Hurricane Katrina in the New Orleans area was not a good time. ![]()
